Though a proud Seattle-native, I've had the amazing opportunity to live overseas for the past ten years in countries such as Fiji, Turkmenistan, Tonga, and Jordan. The colors and textures of the many countries I've experienced have contributed greatly to my overall design aesthetic. Having recently moved back to my beloved Pacific Northwest, I work as a freelance graphic designer in Portland, OR.

I can usually be found on my Mac designing something or other, most often these days a new face for a wiki. I love identity work, and am both thoughtful and thorough in my background research. I believe stories of Frank Lloyd Wright (a design hero in another field) camping out on the sites for his commissioned buildings are both brilliant and instructive; a thorough understanding of you and your needs and a passion to ‘get it right’ is what sets my work apart.

As for my background, I'm a mix: a switch from teaching to the field of design was spurred by a crazy desire to create and a love of type, coupled with an opportunity to learn web design, a path which has recently culminated in a Master's Certificate in Design from Sessions, an online design school based out of New York.

Design is my passion, and I count myself lucky to be able to 'play' for a living. As much joy as I take from designing, however, I treat every project with attention to detail and a commitment to creating visual excellence. First impressions matter and are your opportunity to influence how potential customers view your company. If you think I might be able to help you to create an impression for your clients worthy of your product or service, the first step is to take a look at my portfolio. Feel like a match?
